Learning Objectives
After completing this continuing education course, nutrition professionals should be better able to:
- Explain hypo- and hyperthyroidism and discuss their physiological impact on weight management.
- Identify how thyroid hormones affect weight and describe their roles in energy expenditure.
- List three ways dietitians can improve patient outcomes by overcoming common barriers to managing thyroid dysfunction.
