Nutrition's Link to Dementia

This continuing education course examines the relationship between nutrition and dementia, exploring the research into way in which nutrient intake and dietary patterns affect the incidence of dementia and the course of the disease.

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education course, nutrition professionals should be able to:

  1. Define the different types of dementia.
  2. Advise clients about how different nutrients contribute to brain health and function.
  3. Describe how different dietary patterns influence the risk of developing dementia.
  4. Identify nutrition interventions for persons with dementia across the spectrum of the health care delivery system.
