The Role of Nutrition in Fertility

This continuing education course identifies and examines the connection between fertility and nutrition. It discusses the role food and nutrition play in promoting fertility and provides actionable steps for nutrition professionals that can be applied in public health and private nutrition settings.

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education course, nutrition professionals should be better able to:

  1. Name at least three types of infertility.
  2. Recommend five nutrients that show promise in promoting fertility.
  3. Assess the current literature and research of nutrition’s role in fertility.
  4. Identify through nutritional assessment possible nutrient deficiencies that may affect fertility.
  5. Create meal plans and offer nutritional advice on best strategies to overcome fertility nutrition gaps.
