Nutrigenomics
This continuing education course provides a brief review of research on the topic of nutrigenomics—how gene expression is influenced by diet and lifestyle factors such as food, nutrition, stress, and toxins.
Learning Objectives
After completing this continuing education course, nutrition professionals should be better able to:
- Differentiate between types of genetic studies and how to interpret them.
- Describe the role of methylation in gene regulation and what foods are associated with this process.
- Discuss nutrigenomic impact on disease conditions.
- Evaluate the RD’s role when working with clients and their genetic reports.
