This continuing education activity, BariEDucated: An Integrated Health Guide for Dietitians and Behavioral Health Specialists Caring for Bariatric Surgery Patients, consists of a book of the same title by Chaundra Evans RD, LDN; and Kelly Broadwater, LPA, LCMHC, CEDS-Cand this Study Guide.

This continuing education activity is designed to help you gain a better understanding of collaborative care amongst bariatric professionals. It is also designed to help you earn 18 continuing education credits for dietetics (CDR CPEU). 

Learning Objectives

Kelly Broadwater, LPA, LCMHC, CEDS-C, Kelly Broadwater is a psychologist and certified eating disorders specialist with extensive experience in bariatrics. Her clinical practice includes conducting pre-operative psychological evaluations, providing pre-and post-operative individual counseling, facilitating group therapy for bariatric surgery patients, and supervising other bariatric psychologists. She is passionate about developing aftercare programming and is an expert on post-operative addiction and eating disorders, frequently presenting on these topics. She has been published in the professional journal Addictive Behaviors and written for the Obesity Action Coalition blog and Your Weight Matters magazine. She is an Integrated Health Regular Associate Member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and an approved supervisor with the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. 

Chaundra Evans, RD, LDN, Chaundra Evans, a registered dietitian, specializes in bariatrics and eating disorders. She holds certification in Adult Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is an Integrated Health Regular Associate member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Mrs. Evans has been recognized by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals as a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian and an approved supervisor, highlighting her high level of competence and experience in treating people with eating disorders. Recently, she co-authored BariEDucated: An Integrated Health Guide for Dietitians and Behavioral Health Specialists Caring for Bariatric Surgery Patients. She is passionate about educating professionals in the field of nutrition field on bariatrics and eating disorders. Mrs. Evans’ commitment to her field is evident through her presentations at national and international conferences.
