Our MRI Safety Training Failures
This session will describe the historically informal way that MRI safety knowledge has been communicated to the professionals who need it, and how this method has left large proportions of a generation of MRI safety practitioners ill-prepared for the realities of their jobs. This isn’t just a technologist problem but has been endemic throughout radiology.
Learning Objectives
- Analyze the organic development of MRI safety knowledge and the history of informal MRI safety education.
- Evaluate how the changing nature of MRI risk has dramatically outpaced our informal MRI safety education capacity.
- Discuss the changes in MRI safety training requirements and resources for technologists, radiologists, and others.
